can anyone help me find the slope of a problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What's the problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6x-2y=-24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anyone here?

OpenStudy (p0sitr0n):

\[y =(-24-6x)-2 = 12-3x\]. in this case, the slope is the coefficient before the x, so -3

thanks :)

I think it is positive 3 because when you solve for y, 3 is the slope.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6x-2y=-24 - We make y the subject of the equation. Then it becomes easy :) To make y the subject, we do this: \[6x-2y=-24\] \[6x+24=2y\] \[(6x+24)/2=y\] \[3x+12=y\] Since the equation for the slope of a line is: y=mx+c m being the gradient... positive 3 is the slope of the line. :) Hope I helped!
