form 5 cards, 10 ♦,4 ♦, 2 ♦, and 3 ♠, randomly select a card. A) what is the probability that the selected card is larger than 5 ? B)what is the probability that the selected card is larger than 5 knowing that the card is red ?

What is the fifth card, or is it not given?

9 ♠

Alright. A) The probability that the card is larger than 5 is 2/5, because we have two cards larger than 5 out of our set of cards. B) If we know our card is red, the probability of the card being larger than five is 1/3, because only 1 red card out of 3 red cards is larger than five. (These convert to 40% and 33.3%, if you need them as percent chances and not ratios.)
