ok lets start off with something i don't quite understand from physiology class.. why do cell membranes have lipid bi layers and are those lipids called phospolipids?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They have lipid bilayers to form a fluid-mosaic model, these lipidlayers forms a concentration gradient and closes a "open system" (thermodynamics). Phospholipids is one of 3 components in a cellmembrane, along with cholesterol and glycoproteins. All of these three serves a diffrent function, some of these for mobility, some for structure. |dw:1335442322472:dw| Watch this youtube www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qqsf_UJcfBc. I wish i could give you a more thourough answer, but im kinda in a hurry. Hope this helped.
