p^2-2p+1 i got (p-1) (p+2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but idk if thats right

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Nope. Looks like an (a-b)^2 form to me. What do you think?

OpenStudy (luffingsails):

Not quite. your answer, if I expand it, equals p^2+p-2. Not exactly what you are looking for. Look at apoorvk's response to help.

OpenStudy (albert0898):

Easy Question! Glad to Help You!! When trying to factor this type of problem, find the factors of positive 1. List: -1, -1 1, 1 Now which pair here, when added, will equal to -2? That's right! It's the -1, -1 pair. Negative plus a Negative gets you a Negative! Ok, now... (p - 1) (p - 1) is the answer. Check it!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but thats not in the answers ....there is (p+1) (p+1) no answer , (p-2) (p+1) or (p-1) (p+2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when i got the other answer i thougt i was right but then it said i wasnt so when i re did the problem i just keep getting that answer

OpenStudy (albert0898):

Look, books may not always give the right answers. But if you think it's wrong, then post a picture of the page! xD But I am pretty sure my answer is correct. They don't just give 100's in math for nothing xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is no picture it just gives me the equation. the answers on the worksheet online give me those anwser and when i turned it in it said that the anser i had gotten wasnt right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nvm i no what the problem was...thank you for helping
