Given any non-empty systems of sets S, there is a unique ring P containing S and contained in every ring containing S. Questio:n what does mean by "there is a unique ring P containing S", does it mean that P is in S ?

The ring P is called the minimal ring generated by the system S & can be denoted as R(S).
is P a maximal set of S?
Alright, I'm online now. :) By saying that "there is a unique ring P containing S..." it's saying that there is there is only a single ring P that fits the criteria needed. Also, it means that S is in P.
