does sound travel in space -where there is no air
no, because sound need a medium to travel..
So if a rocket would pass right next to you, you would not feel or hear it?
yes, we will not hear the sound.
Proof?
Proof: go to space wait a rocket to pass near you hear if you can hear :) :) :)
no we cant hear it because sound needs medium to travel. All the particles collide and hit each other in a chain and then only it reaches our ears.
yup, no.
ok, but according to what I from either NASA or Russian researchers have is that a sound signal from out of space was once detected and its pitch and frequency linked to the word "wow"
the wow signal is of special importance because it seemed to be coming out of nowhere. thats why it is a mystery and has speculated us.
eu·re·ka!!-you guys are answering the questions my teachers struggled with.
hey.:) im no nerd but im hapyy to help
happy*
hey i dont think the wow signal was heard. It was merely detected
unlike sound waves electromagnetic waves dont need a medium to travel so they could be detected
syriously now, sound is cald a wave that we detect with our ears. our ears detect only mechanical wave of a certain range. so for the wave to be detected it mast arrive to my ear and efect on my eardrum. there for, a medium is needed so the wave reache my ear.
you would feel the rocket going by you, just not hear it. the rocket would be letting off electromagnetic radiation, some of which you would be able to actually feel on your body IF the rocket was RIGHT next to you.
wow signal was a radio signal not a sound singal dont be confused by the term "heard"
