The area of a regular hexagon is 50 square inches. What is the area of a regular hexagon with side lengths twice as long as the sides of the first regular hexagon?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[A = (3\sqrt{3}*t ^{2})\div2\] Where t is the length of one side. In your case, you know the area but you don't know t. So you can solve for 't' and you get t = 4.3869 for the second hexagon, t = 8.7738 So plug this value of t in the original formaula and you get area as 199.99 Area is approx. 200
