You test 8 automobiles of the same make and model and find their mileage ratings to be 28, 28, 29, 30, 33, 34, 35, and 1,000,000 mpg, arranged in order from smallest to largest. If you use inferential statistics (and reject the outlier) to predict what mileage consumers can expect when they buy this type of car, what value will you predict? A.31 mpg B.67 mpg C.30 mpg D.24.5 mpg E.125,027.125 mpg

OpenStudy (amistre64):

ignore the outlier and take the average of the rest ... right?

Im guessing...

OpenStudy (amistre64):

im thinking is a pretty good assumption

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Average of these numbers: 28, 28, 29, 30, 33, 34, 35 Is: Sum of all those numbers divided by the "number" of the numbers. In this case, 7.
