The diameter of a circle is 9 cm. What is the area of the circle? Use 3.14 for Pi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Area of a circle is defined as \[A=\pi r^2\] The radius of a circle is half it's diameter. Since the diameter is 9cm, the radius is 4.5cm. So, you're looking for \[A=\pi 4.5^2\] Plug in 3.14 for pi, and solve.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use the formulae Area=pir^2, therefore A=(3.14)*(9cm)^2 )

Ohhhh, Thank you! :)

whish equals 28.26cm^2

no I made a mistake r=4.5cm
