How to use to use the word 'consider'?.... ex. They should consider him a person with high morals. OR They should consider him (as?) having high morals. Can someone please explain to me the grammar surrounding this word? Obviously it's a verb, but do I have to restate a noun after using the direct object (consider him A PERSON with..) to describe the characteristic I want to them to consider it having? They should consider marijuana as having medicinal value. Does that sound right? Or just, They should consider marijuana a drug that has medicinal value ? I'm thinking the latter. Just want to make sure!

let's look at the dictionary. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/consider 2. to regard as or deem to be: I consider the story improbable. My example: Zombies are considered to be fictitious. In this sense, the word consider means whether something is right or wrong. "They should consider him as a person with high morals." Here, there is no right or wrong with this sentence. The issue with the previous sentence is only "word choice". Some words sound better than other words. I would write: "They think of him as a moral person." Remember, you can go to google and type define: (word) for a definition.
