Does anyone know of a good way to remember what happens in transcription, modification, and translation?
so from transcription ,if we separate this word scription sign writeing - than transcription will be hence one style of rewriteing ,rewrited case of one text for example - modification - is a presentation of a thing in one different mode,style - translation - is one presentation of one text in one different language llike in what was created,for example
@jhonyy9 gives a great answer. Transcription, (think of transcribing), is simply rewriting using the same "language". In the cell, DNA (nucleic acid) is rewritten into RNA, which is still a nucleic acid - therefore, it's still the same "language". This RNA is modified, or as mentioned above, presented in a different style (through splicing and end additions). Finally, the RNA (comprising nucleic acids) is translated to a protein (comprising amino acids). This last step is a big jump from the nucleic acid language to the amino acid language, so you can think of it in the usual sense of the word translation.
@jhonyy9 that really helps
