Complete factoring 3y+30=3( ) can someone explain this to me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3(y+10)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is true because there a factor of 3 in both 3y and 30 and if we take 3 out of y and 30 we will get 3(y + 10)

Parth (parthkohli):

Factorization can be difficult for some people. But understanding, anything is possible. Take an example: 8 + 4 We can factorize this by taking the common factor of both which is 4. So:- 8 + 4 = 4(2 + 1) In this one, we can see the 3 is common, so answer would be: 3(y + 10) Hope this helps :D

Both of you did a great job explain this ....this is the first time i have ever done factorization. Would either of you know of a tutor that could help me in my math.
