In parallelogram VWXY, find the value of angle YVX if angle VWX is 83° and angle VXY is 33° what category of math is this in??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sounds like geometry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's definately trig.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is somewhat geometry but bit more complicated

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think that it might have something to do with this: and consecutive and adjacent angles and such; I don't remember much about it though... but perhaps it"ll help you...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ty

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ty?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait, nevermind got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea thats what they use here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I cracked it; yea, it was that, except i labeled my figure wrong... did you figure it out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no trying to do work with an empty concentration

http://www.mathsisfun.com/geometry/alternate-interior-angles.html http://www.freemathhelp.com/feliz-parallelograms.html http://www.wyzant.com/Help/Math/Geometry/Quadrilaterals/Properties_of_Parallelograms.aspx these websites helped me remember: take a look at them; and some advice, well if you don't get distracted, put up some good music

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea thank u il chek em out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would you like a diagram of what I did or you cool on your own now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im alright i did another not this problem going to see if its right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, cool; I'll be on for another 20 min max; if you need any help/questions you could ask

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oqei =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need help with trying to figure out the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, i had gone to sleep; did you get it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, basically this is what I did as described in the image. After putting the diagonal lines the parallelogram has was divided into 4 triangles, but also into two as you can see. Using what I know about the adjacent and consecutive and alternate interior/ exterior rules of angles I got the image. and angles.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i had gotten it srry
