Yes, he provided a passionate love story of two people who loved each other, but because of the monarchy they could not be together. It was kind of a blow to the whole "ruling" because they both ended up dying because of the ruling.

I honestly don't think his language is tricky. 

It's basically old English. If you use "Writers Context" you can figure out what his words mean. 

"Doth thou betray me?" Putting the words in context would mean "Are you betraying me?"

I guess it could be confusing in the fact that Doth would translate into "does" and since thou would mean "you" it would technically translate into "Does you betray me"
