OpenStudy (cathyangs):

Is saying "Es necesario que ustedes cepillen sus dientes" slightly incorrect? I seem to recall that the last part means "brush their teeth", but implying that their teeth aren't part of them, like fake teeth. Is this true? Also, is there phrasing/a word that means 'sans'?

Es necesario que SE cepillen los dientes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's not gramatically incorrect, but it's certainly not used in oral or written spanish. while in english we say "brush my/your/his teeth", in spanish we use the definite article, "cepillarse LOS dientes".
