what is the Radial and Tangential acceleration in circular motion?? :)
circular?
well that was a bad example ...i dont like it :P i will tell u simple one
being honest here.. I am so no good in physics.. hahahahaha..
consider a ball rolling down a mountain ,now tell me what are the type of motion it undergoes?
there is linear motion (i think..) and for sure circular motion.. the rest i dunno..
ya correct those are the 2 motions!! the ball undergoes both translational and rotational motion
*types of motions
then.. what's radial and tangential acceleration? (lazy to think.. need someone who said it directly)
well so why does it move forward? due to acceleration right?that acceleration is termed tangential acceleration or linear acceleration
we can also see that the ball's rotational speed increases
hooooo... ic.. :) okay.. kinda get it.. :D hahahahaha!! thanks mate!!
thats due to rotational acceleration
nw lets move to circular motion
|dw:1336047218087:dw|
as shown in fig during a circular motion the body experience acceleration towards centre which helps it to move in circular path ,this acc is called radial acceleration,it is always directed to centre
they are perpendicular to each other?? so does it mean that if we do dot product, we will get zero? (wait dot product or cross?)
whereas the tangential acceleration is perpendicular to the radius of the circle
why do u need dot product of two accelerations? u will never encounter it
no rewards?
hmmmm... hahahaha.. actually this is math question.. so im trying to find the use of dot or product thing from both of them.. :D Thank You so much for the help!! I will try to write it down the answer.. :)
no rewards?
rewards? how?
best answer!!
radial acceleration is to increase the radius of the circular motion by keeping the angular velocity constant but the tangential acceleration is to increase the angular velocity by keeping the radius constant
