can anyone suggest a good study plan for iit jee from now on? please!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@salini ,@heena ,@Aadarsh ,@AravindG ,@Ishaan94 or anyone....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Ishaan94 ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ishaan will give you a great plan to get into great 'IIT'..............

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah..thats why i mentioned his name...

OpenStudy (aravindg):

@goutham1995 when u use @ function for many people leav a space after the comma like this @goutham1995 , @AravindG

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm Plan short, don't plan for six months or something. Of course, you can plan for six months but prioritize shorter plans, plan for 2 to 3 days and then try to achieve it. And your plan depends on you more, how much you can study everyday, your analytic power and stuff. You only have a a year, an year is more than enough for the course but you won't be able to study much from January on wards. So you will have to complete your JEE preparation by December. Select the topic you want to study and start studying, and plan for 2 to 3 day, in fact if possible plan on daily basis.

OpenStudy (aravindg):

i think its best if u make a study plan urself ,we dont actually knw ur situation and depth of study u can take :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, what if your coaching classes are ahead of you in one or two chapters? do you read those chapters or concentrate on the chapter being newly taught?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The thing is start studying no matter where you are.

OpenStudy (aravindg):

@Ishaan94 why dont we get the time frm january?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Who is gonna prepare for Boards and Practicals in Feb? Test series start from October.

OpenStudy (aravindg):

hmm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know, like I said depends on you more. If you think you can and then go for it. Otherwise, study the topics being taught in class.

OpenStudy (aravindg):

hw much problems do u recommend to do frm a specific chapter @Ishaan94

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know. Depends on you and your personal satisfaction level.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and i made a plan like - during the day my coaching classes are there, i return home by 8.30 pm. so from 9 - 12 midnight il learn whatever taught in tutions. then in the mornings, il revise 11th std portions , might get up at 5. am and study till 7.30 am. then have to go to school. cant study in school, and then i have tuts on alternative days. so on the day my tuts is not there, i can study the whole day only the 12th std stuffs from 4.30 - 10;30 or something. is it okay?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

well @Ishaan94 is it necessary to revise 11th portions evryday or revise it at end of this year?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm don't revise 11th now. Think about it while summer breaks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

break*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah im having summer breaks shortly ...hence i included it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

break* ..:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know. It's better if you concentrate on 12th. 12th is 50% in JEE. Even a 40% score is enough to get you seat in IIT.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm..okay but is 4 hour sleep a day enough?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or is it too less?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm idk for you but for me, at least 7. But some people are light sleepers and 4 hours sleep is enough for them.

OpenStudy (aravindg):

8 is optimum

OpenStudy (aravindg):

bt ur schedule is too tight for tht

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the reason why i want to revise 11th std concepts is because i seem to have forgotten most of it..:( and if i recollect itt it may be related to some concepts in 12th..for example in inverse trig, some formulae are there which i will need to use but have forgotten since i had learnt it long back and cant recollect it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@AravindG - okay, so atleast 5 will be enough? i cant afford to sleep for 8 hrs thats too much for me....i like getting up early itself

OpenStudy (aravindg):

kk 5 hours sounds good

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Summer Break. But don't try to get perfect, 11th is hard, especially math and physics when compared to 12th. People spend 6 months on mechanics alone. But you can't do that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

By people I mean good students who can solve nearly every JEE question from mechanics including rotation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so i need study in school too..which is no problem for me but you wont have a social life..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm idk. You should aim for AIEEE as well, Top NITs (Surathkal, Trichy, Warangal) and IIIT Hyderabad are as good as IITs.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

NOOOOO! i wanna get into IIT...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Of course, not as good as IIT DKBM CSE but still, they are comparable to new IITs and Guwahati, KGP.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

NITs are also good..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am talking in reference to CSE departments.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so can i go with the plan i mentioned above in the holidays?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think so.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@apoorvk He is an year elder to me, and probably wiser.

OpenStudy (aravindg):

@apoorvk is an expert on chemistry he will tell hw to handle chemistry :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cool chem is my fav out of pcm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i hate math

OpenStudy (aravindg):

wow i have heard vry few people say what u said

OpenStudy (aravindg):

its usually the opp way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ha ha..i know..

OpenStudy (aravindg):

seems @apoorvk is making an essay i would love to read it

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Whaa..? Yes, am almost an year older to him, and definitely not wiser. Anyways, the key is to 'juice' up all concepts enjoy, and feel every topic, and feel confident about every topic in the syllabus. If you feel like knowing more about a certain topic, go ahead and find out more about it, you have time on your side. It's extremely important to enjoy what you do, or else it's all vain. Planning - that has to be your own - long term as well short term ones. Remember to revise your plan every few days because generally, one week later we do not end up with the results we had planned for. How much practice - is something I wouldn't comment upon. Take as many tests as you can with different patterns, so that you get in the groove. Believe me, some people find 6 hours of test taking tiresome. The biggest factor - "Silly Mistakes" - they are so called silly small ones, yet they can make a HUGE difference to what you end up with (believe us, Me and Ishaan have the sour experience). Do everything you can to better your 'accuracy' and 'efficiency'. Doesn't matter if you attempt just 60% of a paper, but if you have an accuracy of 80% or so, you get 45-48% marks, which gets you through any day. Do not stress out. Stress and pressure kills all the fun as well as the mood to study. At the end of the day it's just an examination, success or failure in it won't totally figure out what your future would be. Do not procrastinate. You should know your priorities. Have fun, go outdoors and watch a movie once in a while, but at the end of the day, you know you have a job at hand. IITJEE is not some "kaale-paani ki sajaa", you can crack this 'nut' pretty easily. If you maintain a constant 'run-rate'. Stress and Procrastination are your biggest ENEMIES. Not just for JEE, but in every aspect of your life. Avoid them All this - I don't say because I am (or rather 'was') right, but from own experience of being wrong. All the Best for your endeavours. :)

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

@aravindG - lol chemistry is the one thing I hate really, am no way near being even 'good' at it. :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@apoorvk - youre right..procrastination is one habit which i have which i am able to get a hang of it now thankfully..and i had a good flow of consistency at the begginning of the 11th std..but midway, i screwed it up. now im not going to a victim of that again..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats probably because at the beggining of 11th, my motivation level was at its peak

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

yeah, you tend to lose the 'steam' as you move along, but it's importantly to 'heat-up' every once in a while. Do something that gets you up and kicking. If required take a two-day break after a hectic studying period, when you don't touch your books at all. Then, as promised to yourself, get back to your work after two days. You will find a better efficiency in the work you do. As for procrastination, develop a habit of 'now' for everything. Have to clean your room? DO it 'now' or whenever you get the first opportunity. Have to clear a doubt? Call up buddies, your teacher or look up on the web, and get that straightened then and there. I have tried this and it actually helps.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow that first line of yours was amazing..you can be a real good mentor and yeah ..i will try to follow 'right now' principle from now on

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Thanks, though I don't really deserve to be a mentor. Anyways, put in your best man, forget the rest. Good luck ;) (P.S. - there isn't any 'minimum' no. of hours as long as you can get the job done)

OpenStudy (aravindg):

:)
