Use Elimination or substitution x^2+y^2=10 and 3y=x

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

if x = 3y you can substitute that into x^2 ==> (3y)^2 Now you have a quadratic equation entirely in terms of y. Solve this by factoring or using the quadratic formula.
