Find a situation in your everyday life that you can use unit rates to compare. Explain the situation, include calculations to show the unit rates, and determine which is the better rate. Here are some examples, but you may think of your own example: Number of channels offered by different cable companies compared to the monthly cost, Cell phone rates, minutes spent on your science and history homework compared to the number of problems, the speed you complete a race, batting average or comparison shopping.

please help me i really need it i dont know what to do

candle burns 4 inches in 100 minutes. What is the unit rate? rate of burning = 4 / 100 inch per minute = 0.04 inch/minute

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but the thing i wrote has nothing to do with candles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well if 100 divided by 100 is 1, you must also divide 4 by 100. 100 : 100 = 1 4 : 100 = 0.04 If 4 = 4.0, you are moving the decimal point back two spaces, hence the two zeros in 100. So you answer is 0.04

OpenStudy (anonymous):
