What is the value of gravitational constant G on the moon?
It is a constant so it's value will be same 6.67 x 10^-11 m^3 kg^-1 s^-2.
ok thanx bro.....
why, if a stone held in our hand is released, it falls towards the earth?
Because of force of gravity.
i need more reasonable answer
its simple
F=GmM/R2
force between to masses is directly proportional to the product of the masses and inversly proportional to the square of separation. earth being very Huge can not move so stone moves towards earth
inversely *
evry object in the universe attract each other , according to newtons law of gravitation this force is given by \[\huge F=\frac{GMm}{R^2}\] sousing this eqn lets consider force btweethe stone and earth , both of them gets pulled by equal forces according to newtons third law.but u see according to newtons second law \[\huge F=ma\] in the case of earth the mass is large so its acceleration is very small negligible whereas in case of stone mass is less so it has less acceleration.. The net result is the stone falls towards the earth .
@zahor was that useful?
*using
* srry the stone has more acceleration i made a typo
ITS A CONSTANT.....SO ITS G ITSELF
