What is the similarity between a parallelogram and a kite? Answer Both have all sides congruent. Both have at least one pair of opposite angles that are congruent Both have diagonals which bisect at right angles and are equal in length. Both have two pairs of opposite sides parallel and two pairs of adjacent sides equal

Directrix (directrix):

Go to the link and see the properties of a kite. Then, post what you think the answer is. I'll then post what I think it is. Deal? http://www.coolmath.com/reference/kites.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i already know what i think it is im doin this to check my work lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think its the last one

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

The answer isn't the last one as you can see in the diagram at the link that Directrix posted.

Directrix (directrix):

I disagree. If this "Both have two pairs of opposite sides parallel" were true, the kite would be a parallelogram. It always helps to read about kites. Their properties are confusing, I think.

Directrix (directrix):

We checked your work and it is incorrect.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so would it be the one were the both bisect

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

no, a parallelogram doesn't necessarily have diagonals that bisect at right angles.

Directrix (directrix):

No. If a quadrilateral has diagonals that bisect each other, then the quadrialteral is a parallelogram. A kite is not a parallelogram.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i do know they have sides that are concruent but not all of them are

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the key phrase here is "at least one pair" which means "one or more pairs" This is true for both since a kite has exactly one pair of congruent opposite sides (which leads to exactly one pair of congruent opposite angles)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank u for your help

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yw

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all of yall

Directrix (directrix):

There is one set of congruent angles. These are opposite of each other and are between sides that are different lengths. (from the website you did not want to view) :)

Directrix (directrix):

@jim_thompson5910 --> Would you draw a figure of a kite which illustrates this? "a kite has exactly one pair of congruent opposite sides" Thanks.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

oh I made a typo, my bad, meant to say "at least one pair"
