What is the difference between an eddy current and a induced current?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

do you have idea ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think figured it out ;P eddy currents are the induced currents around metallic blocks in a changing magnetic field. They form circular currents around the metallic block. Would that be right?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so yes but this is true just in a half part ,do you know why ? - this is sure that ,,around metalic block" ??? so when dont exist metalic block how will be ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no im not sure

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

what we us inside a metalic-block when we construct anything ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

where you need using a metalic block for ... ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use it as a conductor?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

yes nice so than where will be eddy currents and when ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

where will be induced ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

you need just changing the ,,metalic block" expresion with ,,conductor" and this will be the right answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

do you understand it right sure now ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so eddy currents are induced currents but there circular around the conductor

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

are induced in conductors when a conductor is exposed to a changing magnetic field

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i understand now

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

ok good luck bye

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks
