Which of the following is not a step used when graphing the equation x + 3y = 9 using the x- and y- intercepts method? Answer Plot the y-intercept (0, 3). Plot the intercept (9, 0). Draw a line through the two points. Count down 1 and right 3 from the y-intercept.

OpenStudy (ash2326):

@twilliams785 Do you know how the graph looks line for this line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it doesn't show me a graph ... i tried making one myself & got confused .

OpenStudy (ash2326):

Ok tell me what did you do? I'll guide you with this!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first i tried plugging the numbers into the equation then trying to do it on a graph but I'm not very good at it .

OpenStudy (ash2326):

Ok, I'll give you instructions, you plot accordingly. Do you agree?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (ash2326):

The equation of line is \[x+3y=9\] Divide both sides by 9, Actually our aim is to get 1 on the right hand side. SO here we have to divide by 9. Do this and write what do you get

OpenStudy (ash2326):

@twilliams785 take your time, I'm here:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you want me to divid 9 from 3y and 9 to get y by itself ?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

I want you to divide both sides by 9
