determine whether the system has 1 solution, no solution, or indefinitely many solutions y=-x+2 3x+3y=6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

any help would be appreciated

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

1 solution -> if you can find an x and y no solution -> if x and y both get canceled out infinite solution -> 0 =0

OpenStudy (mertsj):

They are exactly the same line so there are infinitely many solutions.

ok is there any way someone can like draw it out for me so i can get a better understanding

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

look at 3x + 3y = 6 if you divide everything by 3, you get x + y = 2 which is your first equation

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

that is how you know they are the same line

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh thats so simple thank you i get it now
