I HAD AN AWESOME EPIPHANY!!! this is regarding that problem with the engagement score being easy to level up so pls hear me out first...i thought since this is a peer tutoring website and all...what if the answerer (a.k.a tutors) will have to decide if the asker was a good student or not. The basis would be if he/she interacted and was able to solve along with the tutor. It's like the answerer would confirm first that the asker did learn. Only then can the asker's engagement score boost. What do you guys say? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, yeah, that's what I always do (at least in math). I only throw hints at the user and never answer the question directly. For example, if its a linear equations question, I form the equation and then ask the user to solve on his own, assisting him in places where he has doubts.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

right...but askers have become clever -__- they would just snob our explanations and wait for someone to answer :/ so if they dont cooperate we can like uhmm classify them as a bad student or something...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we de-medal them mwahahaha

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

This is so subject to abuse.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

these all sounded better in my head o.O

Hey @lgbasallote - first of all, I really do like this idea, and we've actually flirted with various ways of implementing tools and functionality that would allow this. We believe that all askers are *not* created equal - and there is value in identifying those askers who are truly here to learn. This would help both the 'good' asker get their question answered quicker, as well as ensure that the answerer's efforts were rewarded (by positive and collaborative interaction). Good idea! And something we're definitely here to listen about!

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

thanks colm i try my best to help make this site good ^_^ <tips hat>

*returns tip of the hat*
