1 - 100x^2 factor

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

1 - 100x^2 1^2 - (10x)^2 (1-10x)(1+10x) ... Use the difference of squares factoring formula here So 1 - 100x^2 completely factors to (1-10x)(1+10x)

what about this one 9x^4y^2 - z^6 i got the answer as (3x^2y+z^2)(3x^2y-z^3) is that correct

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

9x^4y^2 - z^6 (3x^2y)^2 - z^6 (3x^2y)^2 - (z^3)^2 (3x^2y - z^3)(3x^2y + z^3) So the expression factors to (3x^2y - z^3)(3x^2y + z^3)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

I think you have the right answer. It's just that you probably made a typo when you wrote it out.

okay thanks
