Is the following conditional true or false? If it is true, explain why. If it is false, give a counterexample. If it is snowing in Dallas, Texas, then it is snowing in the United States.
false....counter statement can be : If it is snowing in the United States then it is snowing in Dallas, Texas.....
it's bcoz snowing in dallas doesn't mean it would snow in the whole country of United States.....however vice -versa would be true...
hmmm okay okay thank you so much :)
??
whats the ?? for?
If it is snowing in Dallas, Texas, then it is snowing in the United States. this is certainly true, as Dallas Texas is in the United States (last time i looked)
like saying "if i have lettuce in my refrigerator , then i have lettuce in my house"
yeah but snowing in Dallas wont mean snowing in California....
no kidding and having lettuce in my fridge doesn't mean i have lettuce in my bathtub but it is still in my house
i thpught it was true but idk yall kinda both right if its snowing in dallas its snowing in the us but not all over the us ugh i hate this math question!
*thought my badd
don't think to hard about this because it is really quite obvious and not tricky at all
dude the Assertion he made meant that if it snows in Dallas it snows in whole of US...which can't be said....
it doesn't say "snows in ever inch of the US" it says "snows in the US"
omg im confused :/
wait then true
|dw:1336595594052:dw| D is Dallas.....it is like Dallas is a subset of US....an event in the subset doesn't mean that the event takes place in whole set....THE US is another SET which consists of many other elements too....commenting on the set would mean that the statemnt would apply to all the elements sine a set is a collection of elements holding similar properties....
help me jesus
Savvy...you are really over thinking this...Satellite is correct
wait let me think
tecknikly it is snow in the us so my final answer is true
well its time to say that it's a MINDBLOWING question...
omg omg omg i wrote down false like a long time ago now every ones here saying its true omg i have to retake my exam then :(
nice picture of a set which illustrates set inclusion, and since you have dallas contained in the US clearly the snow is contained in it as well
its true
ok i still stick to my point even though what you all are saying seems logical...
well do you guys know how to answer this one What is the value of x? Justify each step.
actually some more numbers are required to answer that.....you need to give us either the co-ordinates of any two ofA,B or C or the complete length of the line....
oh i did i posted it with everything.
