Is this a quadratic equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x^2+2x+1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry

OpenStudy (pfenn1):

Does you expression =0? Otherwise it is an expression, not an equation. But yes if it is x^2 + 2x + 1 = 0, then it is an quadratic equation. This website ( http://www.thefreedictionary.com/quadratic+equation) defines a quadratic equation as "An equation in which one or more of the terms is squared but raised to no higher power, having the general form ax2 + bx + c = 0, where a, b, and c are constants."

OpenStudy (mertsj):

OpenStudy (pfenn1):
