Note: This is NOT a question. This is a tutorial. Due to popular demand, I have decided to create a tutorial on reading tablatures. However, reading "tabs" is a broad topic so it shall be divided into different segments. This is the first installment to my beautiful anthology and legacy :D please tune in for my next installment sometime next week.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

First Lesson: The Tablature E ---------------------------------------- B ---------------------------------------- G ---------------------------------------- D ---------------------------------------- A ---------------------------------------- E ---------------------------------------- The lines you see represent the strings of the guitar. The letters you see on the left of the lines are the names of the strings of the guitar. The topmost letter is the high E string. This is the thinnest string of the guitar, and creates the highest pitch. The second letter is the B string. It is the second thinnest string, and creates the second highest pitch of the guitar. This goes on a descending order of pitch until the low E string, also known as the thickest string of the guitar. Notice how if you put lay the the guitar on your lap, you'll see the same order. The tablature is designed like this so it can be read easily. This is just a basic introduction to the tablature. See my next tutorial to learn how to read tabs.
