1.Evaluate 8 E -(n-5) n=2 SIGMA NOTATION

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK. Whenever you are dealing with sigma notation, you'll have a series of numbers that will add up to something. So it tells us to start with n=2 that ends at 8. That's basically what sigma notation tells us. So what is -(2-5)-(3-5)-(4-5)-(5-5)-(6-5) equal to? The answer is 5, if you do the math. lol.

thanks!

Oh wait, I'm wrong. The series goes up to 8. I just went up to 6....so add two more. which we'll get 0. The answer is 0 not 5. lol, sorry about that.

thanks
