I'm not sure I understand the difference between the Null Space of A and Trivial solution....

OpenStudy (amistre64):

nulA: Ax = 0

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if x=0 is the ONLY solution, then it is the trivial solution .....

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what do you believe the difference to be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so the trivial solution is part of the Null space ?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

any solution that makes Ax = 0 is a part of the nulspace

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok i think I get it, correct me if I'm wrong, the Null space is any combination of A and x ending up with the zero vector, the trivial solution being one of them. If the only possible solution is x=0, then only the trivial solution is part of the Null space, if the Null space contains other solution leading to Ax=0, then the solution are non trivial ?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The null space is like a box, and the trivial solution is one thing in the whole box ! AWESOME !

Thank you so much for your help, it's very appreciated :)

youre welcome
