How does WD-40 work/ ?
did you ever attend to tribology class?
Well i didn't realize there was such a class, or such a word even until you said so just now. i guess ill have to do that class sometime
is that physics or engineering or directly inbetween
that's engineering mostly but it applies all scientific disciplines in goal to analyze and prevent wear and tear of any material
if i only had my materials for the subject on english i would send you, but its on croatian.
here is some literature i can recommend: -B. Bhushan, Principles and Applications of Tribology, John Wiley & Sons, New York, 1999. -E. Rabinowicz, Friction and Wear of Materials, 2nd edn., Wiley, New York, 1995. -G.E. Totten, H. Liang Eds., Mechanical Tribology – Materials, Characterization, and Applications, Marcel Dekker, Inc., New York, 2004.
WD-40 is a water displacing formula, not so much a lubricant, it actually removes moister, and dehydrates Metal.
yes but it is also lubricant if you ever used it you know its greasy...
Thanks for those texts @Kryten Does WD-40 work by chemical or physical reactions
physical, there are no reactions, he as TheOlympicnomad said displaces water, works like a film of oil, it has good cohesion with metal and displaces water and works like a friction reducer
