can anybody tell me about the mathematical formula for algebraic expressions

Parth (parthkohli):

Mathematical formula for algebraic expressions? Your question is not clear.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is not one.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

formula -> equations algebraic expressions -> not equations (lol)

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

do you some like 'the sum of and quantity A and another quantity B' can be represented A + B

Parth (parthkohli):

@UnkleRhaukus don't forget to put them in lowercase.

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

what is the convention i am breaking

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

or maybe even \[(a-b) = -(b-a)\]

Parth (parthkohli):

@lgbasallote lol, Diya taught that to you :p

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

@ParthKohli do you mean capitals are for matrices?

Parth (parthkohli):

Yes @UnkleRhaukus matrices and sets

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

well A is 1 by 1 matrix

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

lol @ParthKohli no one dares teach an algebra expert :p

Parth (parthkohli):

Well, lol, that can just be said as a constant or a variable, don't hide your mistake ;)

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

there is no mistake addition can be represented A+B

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

cant we just agree that the world is round and is blue

OpenStudy (anonymous):

One mathematician's opinion: That convention is meaningless until there are actually set and matrices being discussed. Until then, capitalized whateva' you want.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

capitalize*

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

i do agree that \[a+b\] looks neater a little bit

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

but i was typing in a sentence and the little a was getting lost in the words

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well explained. I find myself avoiding the same effect, but I haven't been able to describe it yet.
