RELATIONS AN FUNCTIONS in ALGEBRA: Given: S= {0,1,2,3,4,...,9} Utilize the elements in the given set to describe the relation "the ordinate is two less than thrice of the abscissa" using the following methods: a. set of ordered pairs; b. table of values; c. arrow diagram of mapping; d. equation; and e. graphs * note: please help and teach me how to do it. this is a new lesson for me. thanks

OpenStudy (amistre64):

ordinate and abscissa are general terms that relate to the input and output of a given relation. normally we use x and y instead

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x is two less the thrice the y x = 3y - 2

OpenStudy (amistre64):

then pull off all ordered pairs of (x,y) from the set that fit the rule of the equation

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i most likely mixed up the terms .... y = 3x-2 might be a better construct of the ordinate, abscissa terms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok,

i need help...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Input -> y 0 -2 (not in set) 1 1 2 4 3 7 4 10 (not in set)
