How would you graph this inequality? 2y+8>-10x Thank you very much my friends

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would it look something like that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please.. :) Thank you, noseboy908, for reading my questino. I'm desperate for help, but I lack any

OpenStudy (noseboy908):

one sec, I'm working on it on my white board

OpenStudy (noseboy908):

OpenStudy (noseboy908):

that explain it?

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

If you get it into the form y > mx + b, it should just become a linear equation with the side above the line shaded. 2y + 8 > -10x; get y alone.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y+4>-5x

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

Ahh @noseboy908 , you got it in the image; I just had to find a way to open it. :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can't open it...

OpenStudy (noseboy908):

ok, sorry. You are correct except for you need to shade above the line instead of below. When you have a linear equation line Y=mx+b, graph it, then plug in the point (0,0). If the statement is true then shade the side where the point (0,0) is. If the statement is false, shade on the side where the point (0,0) isn't.

OpenStudy (noseboy908):

(line should be like)

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

Maybe this will work better.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL. Guys, you could have just said shade on the other side. That's all I needed. People here are nice, but honestly, I feel like they're wasting both mine and their time by doing all this stuff. Just say, "you need to shade on the other side." I do have two more that I have a similar problem, I hope we can progress a little faster....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y<=5x-7

|dw:1336959309234:dw| Am I right?
