I'm not entirely sure I understand why you'd need to do this, so I might not be approaching it the way your teacher wants. I'd start by looking at the right side of the equation and multiply by 2/2 so that I could combine both fractions in the numerator. From there I'd take it out as regular algebra... But this really is the chemistry section maybe that's why I'm confused...
