Find a piece of music that has multiple changes in dynamics, tempo, and/or articulation and share that music (name the piece and artist) with your classmates. Describe its dynamics, tempo, and articulation and how the changes throughout the music make you feel. Describe the mood within each section of the music as well.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

Try bohemian rhapsody listen to it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Love that song. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Stravinski's Rite of Spring. I can't even start to describe it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Rite of Spring is a good choice. Almost anything by Stravinsky is a good example. Also a Shostakovitch symphony #9 all four movements. In music theory changes in rhythm, syncopation, musical key, tempo, are what adds interest to the music for a lisener.

Claire de Lune by Claude-Achille Debussy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Dyiliq I'm with ya.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have listened to all of these but i dont understand how to describe everything.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well take each word in the instructions and break them down so you understand it better. dynamics: variation and gradation in the volume of musical sound. tempo: relative rapidity or rate of movement. articulation: a joint or place between two parts where separation may take place spontaneously. So just explain what the different parts of the song use.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Have you chosen a specific song?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont understand what these are in the music though to describe them . and no i havent i like all of these options but i dont here the diffferences in the things it .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, so you have difficulty understanding music composition?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you even play an instrument?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i used to

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i played flute and piano about 4-5 years ago

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh... Okay. So you don't really understand music very well? Like listening to it, you can't actually "feel" it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You mind if I choose the song for you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope i dont mind at all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, well, can you do any song as long as it is appropriate?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeeep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, I would do claire de lune as @Dyiliq said.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okaay ! whose it by ? i forgot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh nvm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Debussy. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:) so how will i write the description if i dontunderstand ?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

bohemian rhapsody is composed of 4 parts 1. A capella introduction 2. Slow Ballad 3. Opera 4. Hard Rock there you can see why it is a music that changes tempo :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe you could use this song.. where all it is is no noise.. silence..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can do any song i just dont understand it . i dont feel it .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When is this due?I can't do it tonight, but I can do it sometime tomorrow.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, perfect. Let me get started. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're very welcome. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think I might be done. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, I am done. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"Claire De Lune" is a timeless piano piece by Claude Debussy. Not only was it wonderfully composed, but it shows an array of beautiful musical qualities such as dynamics and articulation. In the beginning of the song, the piano is very soft and slow, giving the person listening to the song a calm mood. The song shows wonderful dynamics or variation throughout it. Sometimes the music is played very softly, but other times the music goes a lot faster and is a little louder. Even with these variations however, there is a nice flow to the song. Articulation is also heard through the song. There are spontaneous piano notes that are played which gives more personality to the song. The composer added these simple but beautiful notes and played these without effort or premiditation. The song affects me, too, however giving me a feeling that I am distant from reality and like nothing else is real but the notes being played. This music transcends excellence and holds very high musical superiority that I think should be enjoyed by people of all ages for generations to come.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hope you like it and it helps! ♥

OpenStudy (anonymous):
