This pedigree chart tracks the inheritance of a recessive trait that is not sex-linked. Based on the information in the chart, which of the following statements is true? This pedigree chart shows three generations. The individuals are numbered from left to right, starting at the top left of the chart. Squares represent males and circles represent females. If the symbol is gray, that individual exhibits the recessive trait. If the symbol is white, the individual exhibits the dominant trait. On the first row there are two couples mated together. The first couple is made up of individuals #1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Individual #11 must be homozygous for the recessive trait. Individuals #3 and #4 must be heterozygous for the trait. Individual #2 must be heterozygous dominant for the trait. Individual #9 must be homozygous dominant for the trait.

Thats All I Was Given !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well let me take a look :).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay Thnxx :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well homozygus means it has two of the same trait and heterozygus means it has one of each. Do you get that so far?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah Sorta. Like I Think It Is Like C ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well no because we don't know where she comes from. SO we can't assume that she has two traits from her parents.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah Thats True..... hmmmm then it would be A ? Those Were my guesses....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats what i thought! but remember the white is the dominant trait. Re-read that answer and try again :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So It Is NOT A ? Ugh LOL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol it's okay. Try looking at the ones leftover that aren't from the first generation that we don't know about their parents.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How about D? did it get both white traits? and are the traits it got both dominant?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then I AM POSITIVE That It Is D ? Ugh I Am So Confused !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes! Exactly!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

THANKS ! <3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mhm :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
