The Arctic Ocean contains a lot of freshwater ice in the form of icebergs. What can you conclude about the salinity of water in the Arctic Ocean? The salinity will be higher than in an ocean with no freshwater ice in the form of icebergs. The salinity will be lower than in an ocean with no freshwater ice in the form of icebergs. The salinity will be the same as in an ocean with no freshwater ice in the form of icebergs. The salinity will sometimes be higher and sometimes be lower than in an ocean with no freshwater ice in the form of icebergs.
I had an answer all typed out but then I read the question again and see that I read it wrong initially..one sec.
I think the best answer is: The salinity will sometimes be higher and sometimes be lower than in an ocean with no freshwater ice in the form of icebergs. But I'm only 80% sure...my reasoning is: 1) When it gets warmer each year some of the freshwater ice will melt and reduce the salinity of the surrounding ocean. 2) When it gets colder some of the freshwater will freeze back into ice increasing the surrounding ocean's salinity (to that higher of an ocean with no freshwater ice).
thank you!!!!
