Part 1: Explain, in complete sentences, the purpose of converting a radical expression into a rational exponent. Part 2: Give an example.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well you have to know the values of a radical first\[\sqrt[3]{2}\] is the same as \[2^{1/3}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt{3x}\] is the same as \[3x^{1/2}\]

I guess the purpose of this would be for when in calculus it is easier to come up with derivative and intergrals. Otherwise its the exact samething whether looking at it as a radical or exponent.
