Explain why the graph is misleading. (i will post the attachment below)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It doesnt have the title

OpenStudy (jkristia):

it is not proportional since it starts with 6 as the lowest value

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, I mean... it would be nice if it had a title and labeled axis, but that's probably not what the problem is trying to get it. Notice the scale for the x axis and the little "squiggle" at the start of it. It's because the axis doesn't start at 0.

Strange, I answered to that exact same question a week ago D:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol @ zepp

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D looks 5 times at large as C, doesn't it? D has 10 blocks while C has only 2. Is D really 5 times as large though? Check the scale.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i got this so far... a. Which town appears to have about twice the population of Town C? b. Which town actually has twice the population of Town C? c. Explain why the graph is misleading. a. Town C b. Town D c. ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a. Town A not C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

never mind i got it thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here's a drastic example of this same principle: |dw:1337119913453:dw| "Hey look, A is twice the size of B!"
