Jerome has two containers labelled X and Y, If X can hold 21 litres of liquid and Y can hold 102 litres of the same liquid, explain how he can use his two containers to have exactly three litres of liquid.

It has to do with gcd (greatest common divisor)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

uhmmm he fills up the 21 liter and transfer it to 102 L...then do it again...there are now 42 liters in 102 L can....do it again...there are now 63 L in the can...again...there are now 84 liters in the can...if he fills up the 21L can and transfer it to the 102 L can up to the brim, he now has 3 L left in the 21 L can
