OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
lol just admit it if you cant answer it >:))
Parth (parthkohli):
Can I assume the marks to be 100 marks?
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
marks?
Parth (parthkohli):
If x are correct, then 100 - x are incorrect. Can you solve now?

Parth (parthkohli):
If lgba is having difficulties, then it is my duty to explain basic math to him. ;P
Parth (parthkohli):
I'm not done yet.

it involves analysis
Parth (parthkohli):
\(\Large \color{purple}{\rightarrow x + {x \over 4} > 55 }\)
Parth (parthkohli):
I mean - x/4
OpenStudy (apoorvk):
@lgbasallote is this intended to be a question, or is it a challenge of some sort for Parth?
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
some sort

ah ok :)) so what should be the minimum score in order to pass?
Parth (parthkohli):
Wait yes..
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
55 is the passing score
OpenStudy (apoorvk):
Wrong! it's not one-fourth for every wrong answer - rather - one negative for every four. SO basically if you answer 10 wrong, you lose just 2
Parth (parthkohli):
Ohhh

if you answer 8 wrong you lose 2*
Parth (parthkohli):
lgba is 96 now.
OpenStudy (apoorvk):
No you answer 10, then also you lose 2.
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
hmm what do you know i am

shh @dumbcow let them do it first :S

yeah, if x is the number of correct answers,
x-|(100-x)/4|=55
OpenStudy (dumbcow):
wait question...are there 100 possible points? or 100 total questions?
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
100 total questionss
OpenStudy (dumbcow):
oh nevermind then P

But, really, I dunno how to figure this out lol
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes I agree with arnab09, you should answer atleast 64 correct answers in order to pass. because if you have 64 correct answers, you'll have 36 wrong answers and that will give you 9 point deduction so that you'll get score of 55 which is the passing score
Parth (parthkohli):
Greater than 64*
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
greater thanor equal to 64
OpenStudy (anonymous):
55 is passing, so greater than or equal to 64

linear programming
\[x+y \le100\]
\[x-y/4\ge55\]
then
\[4x-y \ge220\]
\[x+4x-220=100\]
\[5x=320\]
\[x=64\]
