Solve for t by factoring 16(t^2-6t-36)=0 I think you should come up with at least two answers

Parth (parthkohli):

\(\Large \color{purple}{\rightarrow t^2 - 6t - 36 }\) Do the quadratic factoring.

That's what I tried to do, but none of the factors of -36 add up to -6

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

right - this needs to be solved by completing the square or by using the formula

Parth (parthkohli):

\(\Large \color{purple}{\rightarrow 16[t(t - 6) - 36] }\)

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

ahh yes t(t -6 ) = 36

Parth (parthkohli):

Yep :D

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

can you continue from here rav?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

@campbell you can solve this by completing the square right? - or is there some other way (not by the formula)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use quadratic formula
