Use unit circle to find sin 170 degrees.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

170 degrees is not a common angle on the unit circle... you sure it's 170 degrees?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok... we might have to use identities then...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but I do not know much about trig identities, plus trig ids are later on in my textbook.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if I give you the answer, might that help you solve the problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.174

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's a calculator answer... does it give you an exact answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is the answer given in my text.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok... that is a calculator answer and sin(170) can't be determined by the unit circle. look at the instructions in your textbook for this problem... what does it say?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it gives no instructions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

really? they should at least have some instructions for a group of problems...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so sin(170) can't be determined with the unit circle... if it can be, i don't know how... sorry... :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you for trying.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yw...
