Which description does NOT guarantee that a quadrilateral is a square? a) It is both a rectangle and rhombus b) It is a parallelogram with perpendicular diagonals. c) All of its sides are congruent, and all of its angles are congruent. d) It has all right angles, and all of its sides are congruent

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which one is it? You just said B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry I got confused:/ Could someone else try answering this??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ParthKohli I know your itching to solve lol:)

Parth (parthkohli):

It is both a rectangle and rhombus.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's B ofcourse. A rhombus also has perpendicular diagonals

Parth (parthkohli):

Oh yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's why Im confused. But isn't a square a rectangle and a rhombus?

Parth (parthkohli):

But @shivam_bhalla what is the angle formed with the diagonal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hey if I log out of this, will it cose my question? I have to go to my next class.

Your question will stay here until you log back in

Parth (parthkohli):

Oh yes, I get it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jazy , option A guarantees that it is a square

Parth (parthkohli):

|dw:1337257683799:dw| This forms a right angled triangle. If it already has one right angle, then there can't be another. Get it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

option B cannot guarantee that it is a square as a rhombus also has perpendicular diagonals

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I realized that lol:D My first choice was B but I wasn't too sure on it since a square is also a rhombus in some cases.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I guess its B since as @shivam_bhalla says, "option B cannot guarantee that it is a square as a rhombus also has perpendicular diagonals"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i will let you guys know when i finish

OpenStudy (mustap):

dang @Ruhhr, you take forever to finish...
