3x+y<5 plzz help!!!

OpenStudy (jkristia):

what is the question? You need to isolate y or find a solution (if it exist)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well its says graph 3x+y<5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it does

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so y<-3x + 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok but can u grpgh it plz?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can make a table of points for you. and show you what the graph will probs look like. but i cant show you xactly what it will be

OpenStudy (jkristia):

yeah - how do you graph this?. Thats is where I got stuck. If you graph the line y = -3x +5 then you have one of the borders ... hmm I have to think about this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you for helping me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you graph y= -3x +5 and then shade

OpenStudy (jkristia):

ahh - of course ....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

was that sarcastic or no?

OpenStudy (jkristia):

no no . I really forgot about the shading ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh. sometimes its hard to tell

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so how would the graph look like?

OpenStudy (jkristia):

as Abirla mentioned, you graph y =-3x+5, then you have to find which on which side of the lin Y is less thant the point on the line. That is the side you shade, and that is your solution.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but can u draw and show me plz?
