y = -0.57x^2 + 6.79x - 16.68 how to put in standard form showing all steps?

OpenStudy (lasttccasey):

The form \[ax^2+bx+c=0\] is called the standard form of the quadratic equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so this is standard form?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you're very sure that this is the question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i had to do an activity and make a graph and this is the equation i got but everyone has a different answer to whether this is general or standard form.. i can put a picture of the graph i made

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

FLVS?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

your answer seems correct anyways..

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Agreed @jazy lol.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I include myself in that lol:P Except that I found about openstudy after I finished my math class(algebra) which sucks!!

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Lol, that's a disaster..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i really just need to know whether its standard or general form.. and whatever form it is i need to know who to change it to the other form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think its already in standard form since the powers are already in decreasing order.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what i thought to except others are telling me its general form lol so im confused ..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Probably cuz "general" and "standard" seem to be alike i guess...I've never heard of general form but I DO know that the quadratic equation you put is in Standard form:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks! so do you know how i would get it in general form? im guessing not since youve never heard of it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Um idk...sorry:/ I just got outta Algebra 1 and the only forms I've heard of are standard(in quad equations), standard(linear equations) slope- intercept and point-slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay thanks any ways!
