Which step is incorrect ------- Brandon uses the following steps to construct a perpendicular line through a point C on a line segment. He first draws two arcs from point C intersecting the line segment in points A and B. The next four steps are listed below.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Step 1: Using the same compass width draw two more arcs from point C, one above and the other below the line. Step 2: Without changing the compass width draw two arcs from point B above and below the line segment. Step 3: Label the point of intersection of the arcs above the line segment as M and below the line as N. Step 4: Using a straightedge, join point M and point N. -------- What step is incorrect?

Okay, draw and tell me what figure do you get after following the above steps?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't have a compass to do the problem otherwise I would have tried :p

OpenStudy (sup_open~study):

you need to draw a perfect circle he said ???

OpenStudy (sup_open~study):

i would use the bottom of a cup as the base to start the drawing if you don't have a compass :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have to draw a perfect circle from these directions? in that case step 4 is wrong because i would need a compass instead of a straightedge right?

OpenStudy (sup_open~study):

i think so or you could look up a perfect from Google images and try to trace that will that work ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well how did you get that he is trying to draw a circle?

OpenStudy (sup_open~study):

because the dude on top was talking about a compass and you use a compass to draw a circle and you said you don't have a compass to draw a perfect circle with so i was giveing you ideas on how to draw one with out a compass lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No haha im pretty sure its a triangle thats being drawn
