what role does hemoglobin play in treating injuries by the body?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hemoglobin is basically a constituent of red blood cell so i am not really sure about your question if u could explain what u r asking in detail? because when an injury takes place the main role is played by WBC's (white blood cells) not RBC's

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if someone else could come up with an appropriate ans to the question it would be appreciated

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hemoglobin function is just transferring oxygen to all body cells it has nothing to do with the function of haemostasis [blood coagulation at site of injury so prserving blood within vessels ]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the only relation between an injury and hemoglobin is that the injury like trauma cause loss of blood may be sever that require blood transfusion or mild just require an increase in iron and protein intake

OpenStudy (blues):

Trex and Ramsha are both correct: injury response and healing are mediated by white blood cells, platelets and plasma proteins - not red blood cells. Red blood cells are important to injury response only in as much as the cells involved in it need oxygen, and red blood cells deliver it.

oh...thanks anyways
